I figured, buddy. [Hanna had been missing the magic for a while, it helped at times when shit was harder to ignore, but he'd managed. Now that he didn't have to though, he's definitely going to use it.]
Well, doors open, I've got some movies picked out. I'll see you in a bit?
[Hanna would say that maybe a pair of sweats is a little more comfortable than jeans, but he isn't going to tease him for it.
Ushering him inside, Hanna is swimming in a sweater, a tshirt underneath with some Spiderman logo'd lounge pants. Much like when he was sick, but mostly for the fact that it was comfy and warm.]
I cannot believe you've never played Mario Kart. That's a crime, I'll have you know.
[And, grabbing two sticky notes off the island counter, Hanna will settle on his bed, patting the spot next to him.] Do you at least like Daft Punk? I grabbed Interstella 5555 from the library, but we can watch something else if you want?
Never really big on video games. Death Rally was pretty fun, though.
[ This feels strangely like a sleepover. Alan is reminded for the umpteenth time of the only person in the world that has put up with his shit--Barry Wheeler, both of them staying up all night watching bad horror movies. There's a hint of an eye roll to go with the half-smile. ]
The N64 was a Christmas present years ago. I was going to get myself a GameCube, maybe a Wii when it came out a bit ago, but didn't really have the money for it. I can play the demos at work though so that kind of made up for it.
[He could at least get a little taste of what he was missing. But the console was cherished in the fact that it was one of the only things he'd managed to grab from home before the house was seized.]
Perfect. I was just about to wonder about you. Now, you want to get started, see how it goes first? I've never had anyone have a bad reaction, but I do have the emergency stop on standby if you don't like it.
Isn't that what's supposed to happen when you get big and famous? Pretty sure that's what MTV wanted everyone to believe anyways. [Not that they were highlighting authors, but still.
Pulling the two sticky notes from his pocket, he offers one to Alan, the rune on it different than any that he might have seen Hanna use before but still simple in its construction.]
You should be fine with this shit though, seriously, just dont ever do more than one at a time or you'll feel like shit.
But to activate it you just gotta want to use it and there you'll be. Same as the rest of the stuff I've given you. [Which he says just as the piece of paper left in his one hand glows. It's rather immediate, the effect, Hanna falling onto his back to stare up at the ceiling and sigh contentedly.
Practically six months of Barge shit and no chill pill.]
I'm gonna have to tell TK thanks without being weird about it.
[ Alan bites back a few things--best not to ruin the mood with his extremely volatile feelings on that whole rockstar fame thing--and instead takes the paper, examining it closely. It's nothing he recognizes. ]
[Hanna could probably stand to be a little more sensitive about it, but he's living in jokes and deflection land at the moment. He doubts Alan had wanted a serious conversation, though if he did, oops. Might could have waited a bit to activate the magic.
His head lifts from the bed, a slow blink before he remembers Alan asked him a question.]
Oh! TK, bug lady, T, Taylor Kiryu?
She's my warden. Got paired right after we got back from the Narrenshit.
Wouldn't have been able to do the woodly-woo without her taking the training wheels off.
Congrats. I think? Some people really don't like their wardens.
[ Alan's getting comfortable--as comfortable as someone like him can--and squinting at the page again. He's not hesitant per se, but a glance over at Hanna seems to confirm it. This is different than the cruise ship. Nothing will fuck him over.
Probably. He looks back at it, activates it like he knows how to, and exhales loudly as his whole body seems to just melt. ]
She's alright. Kind of...fuckin' possessed my body for a while there when I was trying to get her weird bug shit under control, so that was uncomfortable. [Hanna usually doesn't have anyone to hang out with when he partakes, the filter he might normally have halfed.]
At least she's not stalking me with bugs. I think. I have no idea how to check...
[He glances over when he notices the pink glow and grins, gently elbowing Alan.]
[ 'She's alright' hits a little differently when the very next sentence is 'she possessed me,' and Alan's face says as much--though it's all mired by the fact that he's actually, honest-to-god, relaxed for the first time in a very long time. ]
I think you're a genius. I also think you should hand me those oreos you were talking about earlier.
[She did tell him it was going to happen at least before he showed up. It wasn't like it was that much of a surprise. Still was fucking weird, invasive and uncomfortable though.
Grabbing said oreos from somewhere behind him on the mattress, Hanna rips open the package and sets them in Alan's lap, patting his shoulder.]
I'm going to put on the movie. Get you some water, then we'll really be cooking with gas.
[it takes him more than one try to get up, sliding off the mattress to grab the both of them a glass of water since he'd been out of soda months ago. Maybe he could ask for a cabinet restock sometime, but this was fine.
Popping on the movie, all weird blue aliens and daft punk tunes, Hanna sits cross legged next to him and grabs a piece of paper from the side table, absently folding a crane.]
[ Alan unceremoniously stuffs a whole oreo into his maw - no separating cookie from cream for him at the moment - and is quiet as Hanna folds the paper, watching the hypnotic movement and the dance beats that sound like they've been sampled from funk. ]
[Hanna doesn't even glance up from his folding, tongue poking out as he tries to get a good crease on the uneven surface of his thigh. It also doesnt help that his foot is tapping out a beat against air.]
No problemo. Really. I usually just chill by myself, but I figured you'd appreciate it. Not too high above us all to get stoned with your buddy.
That and if anyone needed to relax it'd be you.
[He's not even mentioning Charlie's disappearance though it definitely was a factor. He does look up though, knows he might be teasing a little too much.]
You think Saga would be down if I offered her a rune? I was thinking about putting a little offer in the Speakeasy. TK knows about it but I was gonna try and be on the DL with magical drugs incase we have some narcs on board.
[ He'd normally get a bit prickly about it--Aerith and Hanna, it seems, have grown to become the exception to his moody-or-else rule. Instead, he mumbles something noncommittal and helps himself to another oreo.
It's nice, sometimes, to just not talk about things. Hanna gets it. ]
Are you asking me if Saga would high like this or are you asking me if Saga would appreciate magic from you?
We talked about my magic before. Or- The Halo when I summoned all that spooky bullshit.
[He was rather interested in her own magic, or what ever she called it himself. It was interesting in the way that he didn't quite understand it and it seems neither did she, not really.]
I guess I just can't imagine her being less... [He makes a face, thinking before he turns to look at Alan with a serious expression on his face, a terrible impression of her.]
But I think that's just cause we only talk when I'm being questioned or am getting her Inmate, my buddy Terminator? In trouble. I dunno.
[ But he does mull on it, just for a few seconds. ]
We don't know each other as well as people assume, but... Yeah. I think if you approached her wanting to teach her something, she'd be interest. She's curious. She likes to solve things. It's what makes her very good at her job.
Yeah, well like I said before I don't really want to teach my shit. At least you don't seem to really care about the blood tainting stuff but I don't really want to go spreading that around.
[Hunter already had written in his Ledger about his concerns with Hanna and his magic he'd talked to T about it but has no way of knowing whether or not that has gotten changed yet or not.]
She's fucking clever too. Like, I get irritated with Edwin, my ghost neighbor, cause he does the same fucking shit I do, but he's an ass about how smart he is.
Saga is at least nicer about it. Makes her likable. [Hanna may or may not have a little feud with the dead teen, and not just because he accidentally killed him]

[Hanna isn't sure they need much else honestly.]
If we get bored of movies I can always smoke you at Mario Kart.

I'll just follow your lead. I've done, uh... A lot of things. Went through a pretty bad phase with it.
