I never appreciated them until now. But--the lifestream?
[Aerith looked at the books, and smiled, her fingers going over the cover of the Wizard of Oz. This was the Glinda book.]
Must be my mysterious influence.
But- back to the Lifestream. There's memories, even souls of everyone who has died. And...well, most of the time, it's just kind of hanging out, from what I get. But there was someone who...somehow was able to recreate themselves after they died, and made three versions of themselves to find something.
I've heard they were called remnants. And two of the three are here now.

Vincent was a Turk- I recognize all the training. He's now...something else.
